Reflexion - Choosing Joy

Reflection

One of the best skills we can learn is regulating our emotions. How can we stay in a good mood despite there being many reasons to stay in a bad mood! Because joy isn’t just a vibe but a decision.

Sometimes we may think we just have to accept how we are feeling. Joy can be an anchor, in times of stress or distraction we can forget to see ‘the silver lining’. This isn’t about ignoring problems, it’s about not letting them control you. You will notice the chaos but not let it overtake. When something goes wrong, yet let that be a moment, not your whole day,

Life starts to feel lighter, because instead of having a ‘bad day’ , you are having a ‘bad moment’ in an otherwise good day. So, when you are experiencing a bad moment, don’t let it overwhelm you, it’s a moment that will pass and choose the joy in your day!

Reflexion - Life Lessons I Have Learned

Reflexion - Life Lessons I have Learned

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - In our youth there is a lot we don’t understand about life. As we enter our senior years, we have a coming of age and wisdom. Here is a collections I have learned along the journey of my life.

1 Stop worrying about the past, its gone, you can’t do anything about it. The past can’t hurt you unless you keep reliving it.
You can only learn from the past, but stop letting it define who you are now.

2 Worrying about the future is futile, because it is unknown, you can prepare and plan but worrying just steals your peace.

3 Live right now, in this moment, because that is where your power is.

4 Work on your own self development, don’t seek other people to make you happy. People can compliment your life but they can’t complete it. Learn to like yourself.

5 Don’t underestimate your inner strength, don’t act like you are not enough, not strong enough, you’ve already survived things you didn’t think you could. Give yourself some credit, that strength is still in you right now. But when you need help let people help you, you don’t have to prove how strong you are by doing everything yourself.

6 Stop comparing yourself to others, because this can kill your confidence. We are all on our own pathways, focus on your unique qualities and strengths, rather than focusing on your flaws.

7 You are never too old to learn something new, be curious, start small, even if you feel scared.

My Realisations

We have a finite time on earth, it is imperative we use our time and energy in a positive and constructive way.

Reflexion - Spiritual Development

Reflexion - Spiritual Development

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - With age comes life experience and wisdom. Here I outline some of the truths I have learnt that have helped me understand my spiritual development.

1 Being a kind and nice person doesn’t mean I am naive. I observe red flags in others and I won’t lower my standards for anyone else’s comfort.

2 I speak with authenticity, in the past I may have held back my truth because I didn’t want to hurt other people’s feelings and I wanted to keep the peace. I wanted to be liked and didn’t want to risk losing this. I now speak my truth with love and compassion, but I don’t hold back from expressing anything that makes me feel uncomfortable.

3 I am always open to learning more, the more I learn the more I realise that learning is an on-going life journey. I also share information with others that will give help, insight and inspiration on their journeys.

4 Protecting my peace is my highest priority. This is called ‘boundaries’. My energy is finite and I am not going to give it to just anyone. I will not put myself in situations where I do not feel comfortable or valued.

5 My soul’s alignment is my highest priority in contrast to seeking approval. If my soul doesn’t feel pulled to it, then I won’t force anything. I fully trust my intuition that if my body picks up on it first then I don’t allow my rational mind to overule it. This is because if I am not in alignment I am not going to force anything. I have learned to be in a place of flow and surrender and allowing things to unfold.

My Realisations

I think it is important to recognise the balance between being true to youtself, in alignment with your soul, yet expressing this with love, compassion and discernment in all the relationships we have.

Reflexion - Emotional Intelligence

Reflexion - Discernment In Emotional Intelligence

By Yvonne Junor

One of the truest signs of emotional intelligence is ‘discernment’.

Discernment isn’t judgement, it’s feeling when something is off, you can love, support and understand someone but your body tells you, this isn’t mine to carry. It is an energy filter, it keeps you clear, honest, it keeps you from over giving when your soul needs some space.

You may understand exactly why someone does what they do. You see their patterns, their pain, their past, you can connect all the dots and see the bigger picture. Emotional intelligence isn’t just about understanding people’s behaviour. It’s about when to stop making excuses for them. Just because you can empathise with someone doesn’t mean you have to tolerate unacceptable behaviour.

You can have compassion with boundaries. You can care about someone’s struggle and support them without it becoming your responsibility. there is a subtle difference between supporting someone and saving them. It’s recognising when empathy turns into an enablement.

Emotional intelligence doesn’t mean you absorb everyone’s chaos. This is a time to stay calm, and differentiate what’s yours to own and their’s to heal.

But you don’t allow your empathy to override your self respect and personal boundaries. True emotional intelligence doesn’t excuse hurtful behaviour. It allows you to see a persons complexities while seeing the bigger picture and supporting them wih compassion and authentcity..

You can give empathy, kindness, compassion without being emotionally available to everyone and suffering burnout. Above all, you don’t owe everyone access to your energy, you owe yourself the peace that comes from honouring it, because you can go forward with strength and self-respect.

True emotional intelligence with discernment allows you to give empathy without compromising your personal boundaries.

Reflexion - Signs You Are On The Right Path

Reflexion - Signs You Are On The Right Path

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - I have found with age and wisdom, I am much more confident knowing when I am following the right path in my life. In my younger years, I was more anxious and uncertain about deciding the course of my life. However, life experiences, relationships and the accumulation of wisdom has given me a ‘sense of peace’ when I am following my highest purpose.

Here are some signs that indicate you are on the right path in your life.

  1. You have a sense of peace, this is the clearest sign of alignment. Even if the path seems uncertain, your nervous system knows where you are meant to be. Peace may arrive quietly and steadily, in the soft moments of reflection.

  2. You have a sense of being your authentic self.

  3. You trust yourself more and don’t seek outside validation.

  4. The next step often flows naturally.

  5. The anticipation of what lies ahead energises and excites you.

  6. Being authentic is of higher importance than likes.

  7. Even if it feels uncomfortable, you know you are growing.

  8. You feel a sense of purpose and aligned with somehting higher than you.

My Realisations

Reflecting on this list gave me a greater sense of peace about the choices I have made in my life and confidence in the direction my life was heading in.

Reflexion - Surrender To Higher Power

Reflexion - Surrender To Higher Power

By Yvonne JunorAt critical times in our lives, we can fall into a trap of trying to be too controlling of the outcomes in our lives. Life can be a delicate balance of taking action for what we can control and then releasing the outcome to higher power. Of course there is a need for us to prepare and plan our lives, however, we can reach a point where we can surrender to higher power. There is profound peace in surrendering and releasing control in the plan and timing of your life. You are still steering your life, but allowing magic to unfold and allow the Universe to show you the bigger picture of your life.By trusting in the bigger plan and timing of your life, your soul is in alignment and watch the magic unfold!REFLEXION - My Realisations, there is incredible power in surrender.

Reflexion - Building Mental Resilience

Reflexion - Building Mental Resilience:By Yvonne JunorREFLEXION - Have you ever reflected on what attributes can give you mental resilience and clarity? They don’t feel sorry for themselves, they cut off that victim narrative before it takes root. They don’t give away their power or let someone else’s mood dictate their confidence or worth. They embrace change, uncertainty is seen as a trade off for change. They don’t seek instant validation or approval.Alone time is seen as time to recharge and sharpen their focus. They don’t dwell on the past ,but learn lessons from and move forward.Other people’s successes do not threaten them, they see it as what is possible. They don’t stay comfortable or take the easy path, because comfort stalls growth, so they embrace challenges. They keep going after failure, but rather learn from it, gain wisdom, pivot, adapt and keep going on.They don’t waste energy on what they can’t control. They nurture their relationships and put in boundaries to  those who cross them.My RealisationsBuilding mental health is power and we need to be conscious of building it into our daily lives. The greater our mental resilience then this gives us the capacity to deal with the challenges of life.ActivityWhat do you think of this list, how do you feel about it? Reflexion - Finding The Right Path

Reflexion - Finding The Right PathBy Yvonne JunorHow do you know if you are on the right path? Many times we come to crossroads in our lives. Here are my suggestions for finding the right path for your life, it may not be the easiest or safest one but it will be the right one for you. Your  pathway isn’t necessarily going to be perfect, but it will be honest. The right path may confuse or scare you, because it doesn’t come with a map, it comes with a pull. This could be a whisper ‘keep going’ even when it doesn’t make sense yet. You know it’s the right path when your soul feels excited even your surroundings feels subdued. At this stage you are not seeking approval from others. Your highest priority is seeking alignment. When you find this alignment, you will find peace within your soul, regardless of what appears on the outside.Other considerations include choosing the right path means you won’t betray yourself, you won’t need to negate your sense of integrity, you don’t have to compromise who you are. It feels right, even if the journey is not clear.REFLEXION - My Realisations, it isn’t easy or straight forward forging our pathway in life, however being true to yourself is very critical.ActivityDo you experience this often? Reflexion - Trust Your Intuition

Reflexion - Trust Your Intuition

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - Have you every struggled with learning to trust your intuition?

Here are my top tips for learning how to trust your intuition?

Trying to trust your intuition is like trying to tune into a radio station.

Intuition isn’t about thinking your way into something.

It’s actually about how you feel.

Your intuition speaks through gut feelings, emotions and those subtle nudges that tell you to move either towards something

or away from something.

It’s not logical, it’s actually energetic.

So, if your are disconnected from your feelings, it’s like trying to tune into a radio station and the volume isn’t on.

It’s just not going to work.

So, if you are tryng to make a decision and you are trying to make a decision, ask the following questions.

What am I feeling right now? Where do I feel it in my body? What is this feeling trying to tell me?

The more you allow yourself to feel, the louder and clearer your intuition is going to be.

Your intuition doesn’t just want you to know, it wants you to experience, to connect, to tap in and to trust the inner wisdom that is sitting inside of you.

My Realisations

Understanding what gives me greater connection to my intuition has given me greater confidence to understand and follow the guidance I receive in my life.

Reflexion - The Best Revenge Is None.

Reflexion - The Best Revenge Is None.

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - How often do we go through life feeling hurt, betrayed and angered by people and situations in our lives? It’s a natural human instinct to want to seek revenge, however therapy and life experience (of 64 years) has taught me otherwise. If we conduct ourselves to the highest of intention, the universe takes care of the rest.

Here are my beliefs on how we can deal with our feelings about revenge and process it. Once we have processed and released our attachment to desire for revenge, the Universe does the rest.

  1. Time will ultimately expose the truth, the wheel of karma will correct all imbalances.

  2. You don’t need to match anyone’s energy or prove a point.

  3. Life has a way of revealing truth without your help.

  4. If people no longer resonate with you, don’t be afraid to release them.

  5. Your growth is your super power, so stay focused on your soul’s purpose.

  6. Protect your mental health and peace, this should be your highest priority, release anyone who threatens this.

  7. Always choose healing over hate and purpose over pettiness.

  8. Let them watch and wonder, when they realise what they have lost, it’ll be too late.

  9. You didn’t get even, you got better, then it all made sense!

My Realisations

Having an understanding of these points about revenge, gave me feelings of liberation and peace. It reminded me that I need to focus on my soul’s pathway with a trust that the Universe takes care of the rest.

Reflexion - Maybe You’re The Mirror

Reflexion - Maybe You’re The Mirror

By Yvonne Junor

REFLEXION - Some people are uncomfortable with you because you hold up a mirror to them. That mirror shows them who they wish they were but they are not. It reveals all the potential they have, but they are not going for it. They have unfinished dreams for themselves, but decided not to pursue them.

The reason you are a transparent person, you are genuine, authentic and real. You mean what you say and you say what you mean. Others can be the complete opposite of that, they are coming from a place of deep insecurity. They feel intimidated by how content you are. There preference is to break you up rather than say I admire you and what you have done for yourself. Their insecurity stops them from asking ‘I wish I could learn some of that from you’ or ‘how could you support me in some way’.

These are people who will make you feel you’re the problem simply for being yourself. You have done nothing to hurt them, nothing to show them anything other than kindness. Their discontent can cause you to be provoked and react accordingly. This can be manipulated and misconstrued to serve their own insecurity.

Keep on being You! Let your light shine bright and don’t let anyone dull your sparkle!

My Realisations

Sadly, I have been the mirror to many discontented people and received many negative reactions. I used to get angry and frustrated when dealing with people who were envious of my circumstances and achievements. However, with hindsight I now realise their envy is an indication of my success and I feel sorry for them. I have learned to not take their feelings on board and feel secure within myself. Consequently, it has taught me to set firm boundaries.

Reflexion - Life Truth’s I Have Learned

FLEXION - Life truth’s I have learned.

Here are my life truth’s I have learned. I hope you find this helpful.

Jealousy, if people are jealous of your success and happiness, Congradulations! Take this as a compliment, this is a sign you are living your best life. People who are unhappy project their misery onto those who are fulfilling all their dreams.

Let people help you, strength isn’t suffering in silence, let those who love you genuinely support you.

You don’t owe anyone an explanation for choosing peace.

Love deeply, not blindly, soft heart, sharp boundaries. Forgive yourself for the years you played small, you didn’t know better, but now you do.

Say what you mean, the people who need to hear it will accept it.

If it feels off, trust your gut because it is telling you the truth, listen to your gut instincts.

Stop skipping the trip, the money will come back but the time will not.

No-one is thinking about your flaws as much as you are, be more accepting of who you are.

You are not too old, you are just getting started.

You can out grow people without hating them, let it be gentle, outgrow people without hating them, let it be gentle, start the thing, you will be glad you did.

My Realisations

Having self-awareness about these steps can help you live your best life.
