Reflexion - Be Authentically You
Reflexion - Be Authentically You
Reflection
“To thine own self be true”
This is a famous line from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. The maxim here is being honest to yourself. It’s a call for moral consistency, if you align yourself with your inner truth you will be perceived as a trustworthy person. This is an ideal practice of self awareness to uphold even during difficult times.
Authenticity is a word which is bandied around a lot. Being authentic is one of the highest vibrations. To live an authentic life, means that you have your own sense of self-worth and you are not chasing validation. It enables you to move on from places that drain you even if they good from the outside. However, it should be emphasised authenticity comes with compassion, emotional intelligence and discernment.
It means you give yourself permission not to conform to roles, routines or relationships that don’t align with who you actually are. Authenticty gives you confidence because you are grounded in self trust. In given situations you will ask yourself ‘does this feel true to me?’ instead of ‘will they approve of me?’. This mindset shift changes from deep within your soul. Your nervous system settles, your decisions get clearer. Your energy improves because it isn’t being wasted on proving, pretending or performing.
Living in authenticity assists in attracting what is aligned for you, rather than what or who you are trying to impress and will guide you to the right people, direction and opportunities. To reconnect to your authentic self, strip everything away for a moment, ‘who are you when nobody is watching?’ What are your values, how do you naturally think and respond? That first honest instinct is self awareness. As you follow this, you will live the life meant for you!
